Shia Action Committee calls off protest in Karachi

KARACHI: Shuhda Committee Shikarpur on Thursday called off two-day long protest in Karachi after successful negotiations with government, ARY News reported.

Following the negotiations with members of Shuhda Committee, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, addressing a press conference, announced that Sindh government will give Rs.two million to the families of each deceased. Property tycoon Malik Riaz has also announced Rs. one million to the family of each deceased.

In January 30th suicide attack on Friday prayers congregations in an Imambargah in Shikarpur city in Sindh, 60 persons were killed and dozens others were injured.

CM Sindh also announced that an operation will be launched in Shikarpur that will be led by Rangers and Police to to wipe out terrorism from the district.

Moreover, Sindh Information Minister Sherjeel Memon has said that Shikarpur bombing case will be forwarded to military court for its speedy trial. He vowed to take effective measures to eliminate terrorism from the province.
