Shikarpur blast: MWM announces 3-day mourning

The bomb blast hit an Imambargah in Shikarpur killing over 40 people and injuring more than 70 others in the horrific attack.

In a statement issued here, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, head of the MWM, strongly condemned the blast and announced the mourning. He said terrorists have held the province hostage. He of the view that the foul play speaks volume about failure of the Sindh government.

Shia Ulema Council (SUC) also expressed his grief and sorrow over the incident. Central President Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi of the SUC said culprits should be brought to book.

MWM supporters and activists started staging sit-ins at around five locations of Karachi in protest against the Shikarpur blast.

Meanwhile, Mutahidda Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain also supported the mourning call while transporters in Karachi also announced to keep their off the roads.
