Shoaib Akhtar, in an interview to a private television channel, said that he had always wanted to perform for Pakistan under Imran Khan’s leadership.

He claims to be the most patriotic person in the country as he rejected contracts worth billions from other countries.

When being asked by the anchor to define the 1992 World Cup winning captain, he replied with “Great Man”

Akhtar added that he will not join any political party as his mother has forbidden him to do so.

He termed Pakistan pace legend Wasim Akram as “One in a Million” and Shahid Afridi as his buddy. However, he also said that former one day captain Misbah-ul-Haq could have been great but he failed to do so.
