Shreya Ghoshal gets hitched to childhood sweetheart

TOP NEWS

Talented playback singer and songwriter Shreya Ghoshal tied the knot with her childhood sweetheart Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya in a private ceremony held at Mumbai.

Fans only got to know about the news when Shreya herself broke it on Twitter by posting a picture along with the words, “Married the love of my life @shiladitya last night surrounded by our families and close frnds, exciting new life awaits,”. In the picture, Ghoshal looks happy along with her husband as she poses in front of the lens dressed as a traditional bride. The ear to ear smile of the couple shows how happy they seem on beginning a new chapter in their life.

Earlier, she had hinted at a possible marriage in the future when she posted on her facebook profile on January 30th of last year “Don’t know if I’m super nervous or super excited.. Never felt like this b4. Whatever I am up to I will let u know soon;) but need ur wishes.. U with me na..”

Ghoshal started her career by singing various songs from the 2002 hit film Devdaas starring Shahrukh Khan and Aishwariya Rai. She was recruited by Sanjay Leela Bhansali when he saw her perform at the 75th Children’s special episode of Sa Re Ga Ma. Bhansali thought her voice was perfect for singing the songs by the character Paro in Devdaas.

Since then there has been no looking back for Shreya Ghoshal who has won plenty of awards such as the Filmfare Award for best Female Playback Singer and National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer. Some of her hit songs include More Piya, Dola Re Dola, Piyu Bole, Jaadu Hai Nasha, Manwa Lage and her most famous of all, Sun Raha Hai Na Tu.

We wish Shreya Ghoshal all the best in her post marriage life and hope that she keeps on coming with melodies that awe us to no end!
