Police capture two arms smugglers in Sibi

SIBI: Saddar Police on Thursday apprehended two suspects while smuggling arms and ammunition to interior Sindh, ARY News reported.

DIG Iftikhar ul Haq and DPO Mir Anwer Khetran told media that the accused wanted to smuggle arms from Peshawar to interior Sindh, via Dera Ismail Khan, Zhob and Quetta.

Police, while timely taking an action, foiled their attempt. Officials recovered 11 Kalashnikovs, a pistol and 1630 live rounds from their possession.

Police also confiscated the car which the accused were using to smuggle arms, they are being further interrogated.

It was further reported that the seized weapons could be used in a terrorism-related activity.
