Siddiqui expresses reservations as MQM registers FIR against PTI

KARACHI: A Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders over Azizabad scuffle, ARY News reported.

According to details, MQM delegation led by senior leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui reached Azizabad police station and lodged an FIR against PTI leaders Imran Ismail, Azizullah Afridi and 15 others for beating, threatening MQM workers, tearing posters of MQM chief Altaf Hussain and resorting to hooliganism.

The FIR was registered on behalf of MQM leader Sufyan Yousuf.

MQM leaders were of the view that MQM workers only got violent when PTI workers disrespected the martyrs memorial (Yaadgar-e-Shuhada).

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s reservations

MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui while speaking to media after getting a copy of FIR said that the case is not registered as they wanted it to be.

Siddiqui claimed that the desired sections are not included in the FIR as the newly appointed SHO is under pressure.

Commenting upon the upcoming by-polls in NA-246, he said that the constituency is full of MQM supporters and no one can beat us here by ‘bullying’ tactics.

“If we are beaten, it would be the defeat of democracy”, said Siddiqui.
