“The interior minister had suggested Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari that he could form a commission on FIA actions in Sindh,” read a press statement issued by the spokesperson of Sindh CM.

“The suggestion is a bold step towards clearing misunderstandings that originated from National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and FIA raids in Sindh.”

The Sindh government claims FIA seized over 15,000 files during raids at Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) offices, which have not been returned to authorities to date.

The provincial government argues that the FIA does not have the authority to interfere in provincial departments. It says that the agency acted beyond its powers and violated the 18th Amendment by raiding provincial offices.

It said that the provincial administration has got its own apparatus for taking action against corruption within different departments.
