Sindh Assembly gives nod to ‘Altaf Hussain university’ bills

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted two bills, stipulating establishment of Altaf Hussain University, each in Hyderabad and Karachi, ARY News reported.

The Altaf Hussain University at Karachi Bill, 2014 was jointly moved by Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, MPAs Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan, Syed Sardar Ahmed, Muhammad Abdul Rauf Siddiqui, Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, Mr. Muhammad Moin Amir Pirzada, Muhammad Rashid Khilji, Rana Ansar, and Muhammad Hussain Khan.

While the Altaf Hussain University at Hyderabad Bill, 2014 was also jointly moved by Zubair Ahmed Khan, Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan, Syed Sardar Ahmed, Muhammad Abdul Rauf Siddiqui, Muhammad Rashid Khilji, Muhammad Moin Amir Pirzada, Syed Khalid Ahmed, Rana Ansar, Khalid Bin Vilayat, and Kamran Akhtar.

A bill titled “The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University at Shaheed Benazirabad Bill, 2014” was also tabled in the house by PPP legislator Ghulam Qadir Chandio.

MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has congratulated the citizens of Karachi and Hyderabad, Head of Bahria Town Foundation Malik Riaz, Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan, party activists and the members of the Sindh Assembly over the passing of the bill for construction of universities in his name in the two cities.

Altaf Hussain, in his statement, said that the construction of university in Hyderabad was the demand of its citizens and the party raised their voice on all forums including the Federal and Provincial Assemblies.
