Sindh bans pillion riding from 8-10 Muharram

KARACHI: The Home Department of Sindh has imposed a ban on pillion riding in ten districts of the province from November 2 to 4 (8-10 Muharram ul Haram), the ban will be in effect from 12 am on Sunday, ARY News reported.

According to details, the Home Department of Sindh issued a notification prohibiting the masses from pillion riding in all the districts of Karachi as well as Hyderabad, Sanghar, Khairpur and Sukkur.

The notification read that the ban will be in effect from 12 am on November 2 to 4.

It was further stated that women, children, elderly people, journalists and security personnel will be exempted from the restriction.

The ban was imposed after a formal request by the Police Department.

Likewise, the use of heli-cams for the coverage of processions, majalis and other gatherings will also not be allowed from 5-10 Muharram ul Haram.

Moreover, the Provincial Home Department has also directed the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to ensure effective implementation of the ban.
