KARACHI: MQM chief Altaf Hussain has called upon the Sindh government to immediately pay compensation to the victims of city’s timber warehouse fire that gobbled properties and goods worth billions of rupees, ARY News reported.

He was addressing workers and MQM parliamentarians through telephone at relief camp in Old Haji Camp area.

The MQM chief said not only shops and traders bore huge losses, but residents were also among the major sufferers.

He slammed that neither the chief minister Sindh nor any minister visited the timber market site. It’s responsibility of the government to give financial assistance to the victims and resolve their plights, he added.
