Over 800 ‘target killers’ arrested in Karachi since Sep 2013: Rangers

“Rangers kicked of targeted operations against target killers and militant cells linked with various political, religious and banned organizations in the megapolis, in the light of Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict in Karachi unrest case,” said a paramilitary spokesman in a the statement.

“As a result of it, the paramilitary force rounded up 848 target killers involved in the killing of 7224 people, since September 2013” it read. “They were handed over to police for further legal proceedings.”

The spokesman further stated that the Pakistan Rangers Sindh has been taking indiscriminate action against all criminals, appealing the masses to report any suspicious activity on Rangers Helpline 1101 or Whatsapp number 0316-236996.

In September 2013, the civil-military leadership decided to cleanse Karachi of all terrorists and criminals ordering a crackdown on miscreants.

Since then, the city witnessed a considerable decline in crime, with citizens voicing support for law enforcement agencies (LEAs).
