Sindh govt grants ‘special powers’ to Rangers for 60 days

KARACHI: Sindh government has forwarded a summary to the Ministry of Interior, stating that special powers to Rangers in Sindh had been granted for a period of 60 days, ARY News reported.

According to summary, Rangers have been granted the policing powers for 60 days with effect from December 6.

On Wednesday, Sindh Assembly passed a resolution extending policing powers to Rangers along with certain conditions, including a prerequisite approval from a senior government functionary for paramilitary force to conduct any raid of political nature.

Below are the five conditions laid down by the Sindh government for Rangers to exercise their authority.
