Sindh to probe missing inmates released on parole

The decision was taken in a meeting of the officials of provincial law and home departments, presided over by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

Around 40 accused affiliated with a political party have been missing or went in hiding after their release on parole during the government of Arbab Ghulam Rahim, sources said.

The chief minister has invited opinions from the law department and home department over the issue, sources said.

The government considering formation of a judicial commission or a joint investigation team (JIT), after consultations with concerned departments.

According to sources, the chief minister of Sindh has called details and the list of the people released on parole. The government also considering arrest of the people who facilitated release of the accused.
