Sindh to probe release of over 40 prisoners on parole

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh on Tuesday decided to hold high-level investigation into the release of over 40 inmates on parole, while the arrest of all those responsible is also under consideration, ARY News reported.

Sources told that these prisoners were released under the administration of former chief minister of Sindh, Arbab Ghulam Rahim and since then they have disappeared.

Incumbent Chief Minister of Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah has sought the list of these prisoners and details of their crimes from the home department.

It was further said the list was sought so that a judicial commission or a high-level committee could be formed to investigate the matter.

Sources added that in the light of investigations action will be taken against the ones involved in facilitating release of these inmates.

The chief minister also held consultation with constitutional and legal experts in this regard.
