PESHAWAR: The emir of Jamaat e Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq on Sunday urged the government to take initiative for talks with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), while he also said that the government is not authorized to prevent a political party from staging a protest, ARY News reported.

Addressing a ceremony here on Sunday, Siraj suggested talks to be the only way out of the current political crisis in the state. He warned if the government-PTI negotiations failed then all the politicians will have to go back home.

He said that the political impasse is still persisting despite the fact that Dr Tahirul Qadri has gone abroad.

The JI emir said that holding rallies and demonstrations is the right of every political party.

He lamented that the rulers have assets worth billions of rupees, yet they are unable to find a list to provide relief to a poor man.

Moreover, Siraj announced that Jamaat e Islami will lay forth its new agenda in Karachi on December 25.
