Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Pervez Rasheed said that in the month of August, when the sit-ins were not staged, dollar was at Rs 98. He said that had the worth of dollar remained the same against Pakistani rupee, then the petroleum prices would have reduced by Rs 14 per liter.
Rasheed however said that the sit-ins in Islamabad caused rupee to decline, resulting in the provision of only Rs 9-10 relief to the people, instead of Rs 14-15.
