Sit-ins swell in Karachi after Shikarpur blast

KARACHI: Following the deadly blast in Shikarpur and loss of over 45 lives in its wake, all the major roads of the metropolis have been blocked by protest sit-ins staged by a religio-political party, ARY News reported.

Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) on Friday evening staged sit-ins at Numaish Chowrangi, Shahrah e Faisal, Five-Star Chowrangi, Aisha Manzil, Ancholi and Abbas Town, resulting in the blockade of all the major roads of the city.

MWM has announced for a wheel-jam strike in Sindh and three-day mourning all over the country against the tragic incident which took place in Shikarpur earlier today.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), the ruling party in Sindh, has also announced for one-day mourning in the province.

Moreover, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Awami Tehreek have also backed the mourning call for Saturday.
