Sitting outside parliament a treasonable act: Shahi Syed

ISLAMABAD: Awami National Party (ANP) leader and Senator Shahi Syed lashed out at the protesters sitting outside the parliament and expressed reservations over attacks on parliament house and other buildings, ARY News reported.

“Those sitting outside the Parliament are committing a treasonable act,” the ANP leader said.

Speaking at a joint session of the parliament here, the senator said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was the premier of 180 million. He expressed surprise over attitude of Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on the entire protest episode.

He said his party was not attempting to protect the prime minister, but the system.

It is expected that today is the last day of the joint parliament session and a resolution is likely to be adopted at the end of the session, expressing resolve to protect democracy.
