The decision has been taken in the wake of MQM’s staging hunger strike till death in front of Karachi Press Club against raids and arrests of its workers.

The chief minister Sindh contacted Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly and MQM leader Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan and assured him all-out cooperation on the second day of the hunger strike.

Murad Ali Shah issued directive to Inspector General Sindh Police AD Khawaja: “Those who are innocent of MQM workers arrested from Gulistan-e-Johar should be released.”

The six MQM workers who were released include Arsalan Ali, Muhammed Adeel and Talha Ali.

Spokesman of Sindh CM confirmed that police had released the innocent workers on the CM’s order. They were arrested from Gulistan-e-Johar Sector.

The CM Sindh has also appealed from MQM leadership to review the decision of hunger strike.

This should be noted that law enforcement agencies had on Tuesday arrested seven MQM workers from Gulistan-e-Johar and shifted them to an undisclosed location for further interrogation. The arrested workers included elected general councilors.
