Shehryar says some players not meeting the requirement

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shehryar Khan has said some players are not meeting the talent requirement into the team, ARY News reported.

He stated this in a statement here today. Earlier on Thursday, the PCB chief met the chief selector Moin Khan and discussed the team’s debacle in its recent tour of Sri Lanka.

Pakistan lost both – a 3-match ODI series and a two-match Test series – drawing stern criticism on the team, especially skipper Misbahul Haq.

“Time is short for the World Cup and we have to take bold steps and we will take bold steps in the betterment of Pakistan cricket,” Khan told journalists after meeting PCB chairman yesterday.

When he was asked if Misbahul Haq should be removed as ODI captain, Moin replied that it was not his domain. He added that he would give his feedback if sought.
