The Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (AOSMA) has chalked out an 85-point “code of conduct” for the spectators who have secured the elusive tickets for the humdinger.
The report reveals that according to the guidelines, AOSMA and the ICC have banned any banners with religious or political messages, which can instigate spectators from the two countries that remain estranged neighbours.
Australia, who host the Feb 15-Mar 29 event jointly with the neighbouring New Zealand, don’t want to take any chances after the recent attack on a Sydney cafe where a gunman took many visitors hostage.
According to media reports, some of the prominent points of the plan are as follows:
- “24-hour closed-circuit television surveillance operates throughout the Oval”.
- AOSMA has advised people to not give any material, which hurts the political or religious sentiments of any group, without prior authorisation.
- AOSMA reserves the rights to close entry to the ground irrespective of whether all ticket holders have made their way in or not.
- An e-mail address and a phone number for sending an SMS alert to security staff have also been rolled out.
