NEW DELHI: The Indian cricketer Sreesanth, who banned after facing spot-fixing charges in Indian Premier League (IPL), is likely to make his debut as an actor in a Bollywood film, after his signing up for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season seven.

According to sources, Sreesanth will play the lead role in a remake of a popular Malayalam film to be directed by a Malayalam director.

Sreesanth’s brother Dipusanth was heard telling the Indian media that ex- cricketer is likely to play the lead role in the movie.

“Yes, Sreesanth will play the lead in the film. It will be a remake of a yesteryear superhit Malayalam film, which was quite controversial at that point of time,” said Dipusanth.

Although, the details about the movie and the director was not revealed, Dipusanth added that work on the film will start soon after Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 gets over.

“The film has a familiar subject, and work on it will start as soon as the dance reality show, which he is currently part of, gets over,” he added.

Sreesanth is also doing a Tamil movie but his brother said that the former India national will give more preference to Bollywood.

“The rest of the cast hasn’t been decided yet, but the film will have a 2015 release,” said Dipusanth.
