Sri Lanka pulls first win against Pakistan

Batting first, Sri Lanka managed to put on board a competitive total of 151-5 in allotted 20 overs. Dilani Manodara (50 not out) and captain Chamari Attapatu (31 runs) batted well for the side. Sania Khan took two wickets.

Pakistan was in the match even after 18 overs were bowled but asking rate rose quickly in the last couple of overs and Pakistan eventually fell short of only eight runs. Bismah Maroof played an unbeaten 50-run knock off 45 balls. Earlier, Javeria Khan, who scored unbeaten 133 runs in the last ODI on Tuesday, played a quick 40-run knock off only 28 balls.

Ama Kanchana and Inoka Ranaweera took two wickets for the winners.

The two teams will again meet tomorrow in the second match of the series. The third match will be played on January 17.
