Stability returning to country after Zarb-e-Azb: COAS

BAHAWALPUR: Chief of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has said that stability was returning to country as a result of operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan and surrounding areas, ARY News reported.

He was addressing a gathering of army officers at Bahawalpur Cantt today.

The army chief said forces can’t take focus away from targeting terrorism in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), adding that security forces are breaking linkage of terrorists in rest of the country.

He reaffirmed that no challenge is insurmountable, saying “Let’s take Pakistan forward.” He said, “Our greatest asset youth must be encouraged and honed.” General Sharif said that peaceful environment in and around Pakistan was the top priority.

Later, the COAS paid tribute to sacrifices of forces for their persistence and courage in an ongoing fight against terrorism.
