TOP NEWS

A red-alert has been declared in Islamabad and Rawalpindi for the occasion.  Contingents of Pakistan Army and Rangers are patrolling the four kilometres of the Parade Ground.

It should be noted that Pakistan Day will be celebrated with national zeal whereas the parade will be held after seven years.

Close circuit cameras have been installed in different areas of the federal capital whereas the roads leading to the parade ground have been sealed. The traffic heading towards the direction has been diverted towards alternate routes.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the roads from Khanna Bridge towards Zero Point will be closed for traffic whereas the citizens wanting to reach Lehthra Road, Rawal Dam and Kashmir Road should take alternate routes.

There will be a ban on the entry of heavy traffic in the city, ISPR stated.

The statement said that mobile phone services will remain suspended in different parts of Islamabad from 10 am to 3 pm as well.

A special control room has been formed to monitor any suspicious activity throughout the day.
