Suffering of Kashmiris must come to an end, says PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that he salutes the determination of the people of Kashmir for continuing their struggle for the right of self-determination, ARY News reported.

He was addressing the opening session of an International Parliamentary Seminar on Kashmir in Islamabad on Thursday.

The prime minister stated that Kashmir is an identity of Pakistan and its youth is writing a new chapter in their struggle.

PM Sharif said that Pakistan will continue to prick the conscious of the international community on the issue. He added that the country will ensure that the whole world knows what is happening in the disputed region.

He went on to say that the world needs to tell India that “enough is enough”. He also said that United Nations (UN) resolutions on Kashmir must be implemented.

“The continued suffering of the Kashmiri people must come to an end,” PM Sharif added.

The premier added that Pakistan desires peaceful ties with its neighbours and all countries must look towards the future.

He said that the nation and parliament will continue to support the struggle of the Kashmiri people. He said that the people of Pakistan will not remain silent on the atrocities being suffered by the people in the region.

It should be noted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the seminar, which is organized by National Assembly’s Young Parliamentarians Forum.

The humanitarian crisis in the Indian-occupied Kashmir are being highlighted in the seminar, which is being attended by more than 400 delegates which includes experts and parliamentarians from European North America, United Kingdom, Canada and European Parliament.
