Sultan Rahi being remembered on his death anniversary
Mohammad Sultan Khan better known as “Sultan Rahi” was born in India’s Saharanpur in 1938. After moving to Pakistan after partition with his family, Sultan Rahi started acting in 1956.
He played supporting role in his initial stages but Maula Jatt became a turning point in his acting career. The film became a trend setter in Pakistani film industry and went on to break all records. He became a powerful figure Punjabi cinema due to his performance and dialogue delivery.
The actor went on to work in more than 750 films.
Sultan Rahi was shot dead by unknown persons on 9th January, 1996 at Grand Trunk Road near Gujranwala.
His legacy still lives on to this day.
