Supreme Court stays execution of three APS convicts

According to details, the Supreme Court stopped the implementation of death sentence of three convicted in the Army Public School massacre. The Supreme Court also sent a notice to the Attorney General to appear on February 16th.

Military Courts had sentenced the three convicts to death for their role in the Army Public School attack on December 16, 2014.

Justice Dost Muhammad said it was binding on Military Courts to declare the reason for sentencing a criminal to death. The names of the convicted are Taj Muhammad, Ali Rahman and Muhammad Zubair.

Militants belonging to the TTP had stormed the Army Public School in Peshawar on December 16, 2014. More than 140 people had been killed, among them mostly schoolchildren. Following the incident, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had lifted the moratorium on death penalties.
