Tareen terms ECP’s silence on PM’s Lodhran visit ‘sorrowful’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Jehangir Tareen on Friday expressed sorrow over the silence of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on PM’s Lodhran visit, ARY News reported.

Tareen lamented that the ECP is not playing its due role and termed its silence on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Lodhran as ‘sorrowful’.

Earlier in the day, PM Nawaz Sharif visited Lodhran where he announced Rs 2.5 billion development package for the district.

He was addressing a function in connection with the cheques distribution among the small farmers under the Prime Minister’s Kissan Package.

It is mandatory to note here that of late the ECP rescheduled the NA-154 Lodhran by-election on December 23, in connection to which the opponents see the development package as an attempt of pre-poll rigging.
