Team tasked with probing Saulat's video dissolved

KARACHI: A team constituted to probe video confessional statement of Saulat Mirza, convicted death row prisoner, is no more operational, ARY News reported.

According to sources in the Interior Ministry Balochistan, the team has no reasons to investigate video when the death warrants have been received to Machh Jail for execution of Mirza on April 1, 2015.

A confessional video statement of Mirza was released hours before his hanging on March 19 in which he made startling revelations. The probe committee has been ceased to exist even before it started its work.

He claimed that he had received ‘direct orders’ from MQM chief Altaf Hussain to shoot dead the then KESC chief Shahid Hameed in Karachi in 1997.
