KARACHI: A ten-year-old child was killed and another injured by a speeding bus in New Karachi on Sunday, ARY News reported.
The incident occurred near Kulsoom Hotel where a child named Adnan was crushed to death. The bus reportedly got out of control and struck the children on the roadside.
The bus driver managed to escape from the scene following the accident. An enraged mob set fire to the two vehicles. Rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the wounded child to a hospital for treatment. Fire tenders managed to extinguish the flames shortly after reaching the scene.
Tension gripped the area and traffic flow was also restricted. Law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene and controlled the situation.
In a separate incident another ten people were injured when a bus overturned at Mai Kolachi.
