Terror bid foiled in Karachi

KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies on Monday foiled a terror bid in Karachi as a commander of an outlawed group was arrested along with his eight other accomplices, ARY News reports.

CID Police carried out a raid at Baldia Town in which eight militants including their commander were taken into custody.

Fifty kilograms of explosives, three rifles, 10 ball bombs, eight TT pistols and two motorcycles were also seized during the raid.

According to the incharge of Anti-Terrorism Cell Ali Raza , the suspected militants had arrived here in the metropolis from Waziristan.

He added that the weapons, seized during the raids, were to be used in a terrorist activity in the metropolis.
