The two senior and prominent political members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Pak Sarzameen party were presented before the ATC in the afternoon today amid strict security arrangements.
The final judgement on their bail pleas was already reserved by the ATC during its hearing on July 27 only to be announced today.
Ilyas Khan, Qaimkhani’s lawyer, in his argument, had denied all the charges levelled against his client and told the court that Qaimkhani never pushed anyone to give medical assistance to terror elements.
Qaimkhani, Siddiqui along with Karachi’s mayor nominee, MQM’s Wasim Akhtar and a member of Pakistan People’s Party Qadir Patel have been behind the bars in Karachi Central Jail since July 19, for their alleged involvements in Dr Asim Terror Facilitation Case.
They face charges of asking the former petroleum minister to provide medical treatment and safe haven to terrorists at Ziauddin and other hospitals of Dr Asim – the main accused in the case.
Meanwhile, in a case pertaining to provocative speeches, an ATC had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for more than 20 MQM leaders earlier today, ARY News reported.
