One teacher said students were attending the university in large numbers which showed their resolve towards education.

Stringent security measures were taken today with deployment of security forces around the university, while every vehicle was being thoroughly checked before getting entry into the varsity premises.

Similarly every person also had to undergo strict security checks before being allowed in.

On Wednesday (January 20), four terrorists barged into the varsity and launched the armed assault.

The assault on Bacha Khan university campus in Charsadda was later claimed by a faction of the Pakistani Taliban and bore a chilling resemblance to a December 2014 massacre at a school in Peshawar that killed more than 150 people, mostly children.
