SWABI: Two terrorists and a policeman were killed in a police operation in Swabi, ARY News reported on Sunday.
DIG Mardan Ejaz Ali Khan said that terrorists attacked a police van at Miani area of Swabi as the law enforcers were carrying out a patrol, resulting in the death of a police officer.
A police constable named Muneer also sustained bullet injuries by the terrorists’ firing.
Police chased the terrorists who had sought refuge inside a cellphone shop and held its owner Safdar and his two sons hostage.
The attackers tried to use the hostages as human shields. However, police managed to rescue the hostages safely.
One of the terrorist blew himself up during the operation whereas another was killed in the exchange of fire with the police.
