Thar Drought: Five more children die

THAR: Five more children passed away due to the drought situation in arid region of Tharparkar on Monday, ARY News reports.

It should be noted that more than 80 children have passed away due to the drought situation in Thar. More casualties are feared upon the start of winter season.

Sindh Government had announced Rs. 0.2 million as relief for each victim but only handed cheques of Rs. 0.1 million to each family. The provincial government had staged meetings to solve the crisis to but have not managed to resolve it as yet.

Earlier, rumors were circulating that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had sent show cause notice to provincial minister Manzoor Wassaan and Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah over the situation in Tharparkar.
