Thar Drought: Seven more children die

The total death toll has increased to 158 since the famine gripped intensity.

A team of 100 doctors will arrive here in Tharparkar on Wednesday which will investigate the cause of the deaths amongst the new borns. They will also form a policy to tackle the issue.

Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has taken notice of the deaths.

As Tharparkar is an arid region, lack of rainfall and vegetation causes malnutrition in mothers which paves to health issues amongst the new born children.

It should be noted that the provincial government has failed to tackle the issue. The region continues to face food shortage whereas the authorities are absent in responding to the situation.

Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has also been harshly criticized over the inability to deal with the drought situation in Thar.
