There should be no load-shedding on Eid, warns PPP

The PPP leader accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led government of failing to overcome the years-long issue of load-shedding even after three years in power.

While speaking to media representatives in Karachi, PPP’s Khuhro said during the last elections, PML-N government begged for votes on false claims of ending load-shedding from the country within months.

However, the government could not even lower the prices of electricity during its tenure, said Nisar Khuhro.

The senior PPP leader said that the federal government believes in the politics of lip-service only, although they had enough time to resolves country’s issues.

Khuhro continued to insist that it is high time that the government must fulfill its long forgotten pledges. 

At the start of the holy month of Ramazan, Federal Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali had claimed that the government was ensuring uninterrupted supply of electricity to 94 per cent areas of the country during Sehr and Iftar times.

However, unscheduled load-shedding was witnessed in many areas of the country even during Sehr and Iftar.

While recent spell of monsoon rains plunged a huge chunk of the country including major cities of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta for hours.
