Gang war members shot three persons dead in Bihar Colony area of Lyari town, suspecting them of police informers. The deceased were identified as Shoaib, Nadeem and Shani.
Gang war takes hold of Lyari ‘again’
Our correspondent Kamil Arif told that the law enforcement agencies have compiled a report stating that Lyari gangs have reorganized themselves and are carrying out attacks in each other’s areas.
The report stated the reason behind the gangsters gaining a foothold in town to be recent large scale transfers and postings in local police.
Officials stated that the previously formed teams were rightly acting against all criminals in Lyari, but with the shuffling of officials and policemen has offset the results previously achieved.
Cop injured, attacker arrested
Another incident took place in North Nazimabad area where unknown armed men opened fire at a police patrol team.
As a consequence, a cop was injured while one of the attackers was also arrested after being wounded in retaliatory fire.
However, other accomplices of him managed to flee the scene.
Three more people were injured due to shootings in Korangi and Malir Bakra Peedi areas of the megapolis.
