Police carried out an operation against the alleged terrorists in the area. Eye witnesses stated that the terrorists, hiding in a house, opened fire at the law enforcement agencies after which an exchange of fire took place.
Tear gas shells were also fired by the police while elite commandos and armored cars were also called for backup during the operation.
Three people including a woman were arrested in the raid. The suspected terrorists were shifted to an unknown location for investigation. The operation lasted for four hours.
Two passerbys and cameramen of a private news channel also sustained injuries during the exchange of fire.
