Three suspects in Shuja Khanzada’s assasination arrested from Islamabad madrassa

ISLAMABAD: Security agencies on Thursday night nabbed three suspects involved in the killing of Punjab’s Home Minister Colonel (Retd.) Shuja Khanzada from Islamabad, ARY News reports citing sources.

Punjab’s Home Minister Colonel (Retd.) Shuja Khanzada was killed in a suicide blast on July 16th.

Sources said that the suspects identified as as Shaukat, Qari Irshad and Qari Imradullah were arrested from a religious seminary in Islamabad during an operation by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Rangers.

The CTD and the para-military force, after receiving tip-off regarding their presence in the seminary, arrested the suspects shortly afterwards. The sources further mentioned that Police and other law enforcement agencies were unaware that the raid was set to take place.

It was stated that the arrested persons were identified as the facilitators and planners of the attack on former Punjab Home Minister.

Shaukat is said to be involved in different terrorist activities as well. The suspects have been shifted to an unknown place for investigation.
