Former England opener Marcus Trescothick on Thursday picked his All-Time XI and selected some of the legendary cricketers for his dream team.
In the whole list comprising greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting and all-rounder Jacques Kallis, the single Pakistani was legendary bowler Wasim Akram.
“Number nine, Wasim; left-arm option, quick bowler. Always made it very tricky for the opening batsmen,” Trescothick said about Pakistan’s fast-bowling asset.
In the team captained by Australia’s World Cup winning captain Ricky Ponting, Trescothick picks current British captain Alastair Cook and South Africa’s Graeme Smith as openers.
For the number 3 spot he picks Ponting, while Brian Lara and Tendulkar are in his middle order.
The first and the only all-rounder he picks is the South African great Jacques Kallis (smart choice btw). His specialist spinner is Australian maestro Shane Warne while he picks Wasim Akram, England’s James Anderson and Australian silent killer Glenn McGrath as his main fast bowlers.
Great selection Tresco!
