TTP commander among 4 killed in 'encounter'

KARACHI: Police on Sunday gunned down four terrorists linked with banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in an ‘encounter’ in Jamali Goth at Karachi Super Highway, ARY News reported.

Police upon an intelligence tip off conducted a raid in Jamali Goth area, which led to a gunbattle with the ‘terrorists’. Officials told that the terrorists also fired RPGs on the cops, however all of them were killed in retaliatory fire by the police.

The deceased included a TTP commander Qudratullah alias Sher Khan and three accomplices.

SSP Rao Anwar told that the deceased terrorists were involved kidnappings for ransom, targeted killings and attacks on security forces.

He added that the other associates of the deceased managed to escape the scene, however the cops are searching for them.
