TTP commander killed in Karachi police encounter

KARACHI: A Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander and four other terrorists were killed in a police encounter in Karachi on Monday, ARY News reported.

According to details, police on a tip off raided a terrorist hideout in Sohrab Goth area of the city where the terrorists opened fire on the police personnel.

Four terrorists were killed in the shootout while two managed to flee.

Senior Superintendent Police Rao Anwar said that one of the dead terrorists is identified as Akbar alias Badshah, a commander of TTP Swat group.

The terrorists who managed to escape the police have been identified as Sohaib Mahsood and Gohar.

Anwar claimed that the terrorists were wanted in a number of terrorism cases while a huge cache of arms also recovered from their possession.

He claimed that six terrorists including three suicide bombers are present in the city and will be arrested soon.

 Rangers and police have intensified crackdown against criminals in Pakistan’s economic hub and Sindh province’s capital city arresting several target killers, extortionists, kidnappers and other criminals.
