Two held in Karachi raids
A man was apprehended during a raid at a cardiac centre in Federal B. Area – Block 16. Police also seized documents and computer data during the raid.
The arrested man shifted to an unknown location for investigation.
A suspected street criminal Aqib alias Kekra was nabbed from Nazimabad area of the metropolis with 18 stolen mobile phones. An accomplice of the arrested criminal managed to escape from the scene.
Police also recovered cash and a motorcycle from the arrested man.
A targeted operation was initiated in Karachi led by paramilitary Rangers against criminal elements in September 2013 with the assistance of police to clean the city from targeted killings, extortion, terrorism and kidnapping for ransom.
Hundreds of terrorists, criminals and suspected persons have been rounded up in raids in nearly three years to have an impact on the law and order of the metropolis.
The provincial and federal government along with security agencies had agreed to launch crackdowns in Karachi, a city which had been torn by terrorism and criminal activities for years.
