Two held over drug trafficking in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Police arrested two suspected persons in Gujranwala over drug trafficking, ARY News reported on Saturday.

Cantt Police got a tip-off that a man Deen Mohammad and his accomplice were arriving in Gujranwala from Peshawar with large quantity of drugs.

Deen Mohammad and his accomplice were apprehended by the policemen deployed at the entry and exit points of the city and recovered 10 kilograms of hashish and one-kilogram of opium from their possession.

Police said that a drug trafficker arrested earlier had provided the clue about the drug smugglers.

Deen Mohammad hails from Peshawar and supplies drugs to different parts of the country especially Punjab, police officials said.

The investigation has been underway and disclosures can be expected, said the police sources.
