Two killed in police encounter in Karachi

KARACHI: Two criminals were killed while seven suspects were arrested in a targeted operation by police in Karachi on Wednesday, ARY News reported

Two criminals were killed in a shootout with police as they opened fire on a police vehicle in Orangi Town’s Peerabad locality.

The police van was patrolling the area when it was fired upon by the criminals. Firearms, hand grenades and a motorcycle was recovered from the criminals, DIG West said.

Police in a targeted operation near Tariq Road’s Liberty Chowk arrested seven suspects.

Rangers personnel rounded up several people in Baldia Town’s Mohajir Camp after surrounding the area.

Paramilitary Rangers and police have intensified crackdown on criminals in Pakistan’s economic hub Karachi arresting target killers, extortionists, kidnappers and  a number of other criminals.
