Two passengers arrested at airports with 15K gold, foreign currency

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Airport Security Force (ASF) and Customs officials foiled bids of smuggling gold and foreign currency out of the country and arrested two passengers at Lahore and Islamabad airports, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

According to details, Customs officials captured 15 kilogrammes of gold and 30 million rupees from secret pockets of a bag carrying by a passenger Abdul Basit at Allama Iqbal International Airport of Lahore.

The arrested passenger has been handed over to the Customs anti money laundering unit for further investigation.

The Airport Security Force Islamabad arrested a passenger with 50,000 US dollars and British Pounds.

The law enforcement agency’s officials have arrested the Doha bound passenger and started investigation.
