Two Rangers checkposts attacked in Karachi

KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies galvanized into action early Sunday morning when two Rangers checkposts on different points were attacked in the city, ARY News reported.

In the first attack, the armed miscreants lobbed a hand grenade at a paramilitary personnel picket near Essa Nagri, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and fled. The checkpost was partially damaged in the attack.

After about 20 minutes, another hand-grenade attack on Rangers checkpost was reported near Moti Mahal, Gulshan Chowrangi.

However, no loss of life was reported in either of the incidents.

Police sources said the attack seemed to be carried out by the same group. Investigators on the crime spot asked eye-witnesses who said two men were riding a motorbike, hurled grenade and sped away.

Sources said the miscreants could be seen in CCTV camera installed outside a shopping mall on Moti Mahal.
