Two robbers killed in Karachi encounter

KARACHI: Police gunned down two robbers in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

According to details, two robbers were wounded in the exchange of fire with the law enforcement agencies in the jurisdiction of Sohrab Goth Police Station. However, the suspects succumbed to their wounds on their way to the hospital.

Police said that the suspects were street criminals and weapons, seven stolen mobile phones, cash and a motorcycle, without a number plate were recovered from them.

Police arrested two suspects identified as Abdul Hafeez and Talha in Pak Colony area following an encounter and recovered weapons from the nabbed persons.

Moreover, the law enforcement agencies rounded up 20 suspected criminals during a search operation in Korangi area. The raid was carried out after a police officer was wounded in firing carried out by unknown persons.

Police has said that no weapon was found from the arrested persons and they are being questioned.

On the other hand, Ittehad Town Police seized a vehicle smuggling 620 litres of Iranian diesel. A suspect, Mukarram Khan, was arrested with the vehicle carrying the smuggled fuel.
